DEAR TUMBLR FOLLOWERS:

I need your opinions. I’ve been having some weeeeeird dreams lately, and Canadude has suggested that I canvass y’all to get your take on their potential meaning.

Basically, I keep dreaming about cheating on him. Sometimes with people I know (his roommate), sometimes with people I don’t recognize or like (a bro, my brother, a random stranger), and sometimes without awareness of or remorse for what I’ve done until after the sexual interaction as occurred. Someone will make a move on me, and I will let it happen, and then afterward I stress about what I’m going to do and how I’m going to tell Patrick that I’ve cheated. No confrontation ever actually happens, I always wake up or move on to another part of the dream, but it leaves me feeling slightly uneasy.

Canadude has been handling the whole hey-I-keep-having-dreams-about-cheating-on-you thing quite well, but I know it can’t be the most comfortable thing in the world for him, either. And all of the common interpretations of the elements of these dreams suggest guilt or insecurity or uneasiness, traits that I don’t believe exist in our relationship in real life.

SO, dear followers, what do you think? What kind of weird, ridiculous dreams have YOU had?

  1. davidwduffy said: Could just be a fear thing - fear of getting hurt. Doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll cheat. Just like how dreaming of your own death doesn’t mean it’ll happen - means that there are supposed to be big changes ahead. Don’t read too much into it!
  2. farfromthepacific answered: Well dreams are the body’s way to prepare for future events, so it could just be your brain attempting to figure out what to do IF it happens
